I was a lucky one because I had an older brother and sister so I’d heard about Kindergarten before that morning. I was ready to go on this new adventure. I’d been taught to spell some really key words like ‘red’ and ‘cat’, and I could read, well at least a bit. I think I could recite one to six, in French, like a Nursery Rhyme that I didn’t really understand. No tears my side of the fence, although disturbingly there were a few crying children around me – that didn’t make any sense.
