Our Father’s Day Assembly was a memorable occasion with a large contingent of parents joining us in a fine snapshot of the broad offerings we have at CCPS. It proved to be a real showcase of talents with a wide variety of co-curricular and curricular related presentations made or performed by our children. The Cherub Choir sang “My Song” by Sir Elton John, a beautiful way to commence. The Choir was followed by Year 3 members singing a song and individually also stating why they loved their Dad which was meaningful and brought quite a few ‘aahs’ and sighs from the audience. Japanese language competition certificates were awarded to Faiza Akram (Yr 4) Jordan Muir (Yr 6), and Natasha Irvine (Yr 9). The Percentage Cup from Interdistrict Independent Schools Athletics Championships was announced to have been won by our CCPS team for the highest participation per student numbers; and Tayla Hovi-Robinson (Yr 10) achieved a remarkable third place overall as Athletics Champion in her age group, from over thirty District competitors. Musical acknowledgements continued with a fine list of achievers led by Gabriella Henzell (Yr 3) for Piano Solo Pre 20th Century 8 years and under – Highly Commended; Piano Solo Popular 8 years and under; Piano Solo Australian Composer 8 years and under – Highly Commended; Vocal Set Piece 8 years and under – First Place; Vocal Musical Theatre 9 years and under – Highly Commended; Vocal Sacred and Gospel 9 years.
