Last weekend’s drenching filled me with gratitude that our school’s engineers and planners so effectively produced buildings that withstood the wind and rain, and a sportsfield that on Monday morning looked immaculate. Pelican Waters is a new canal suburb that looked very inviting in the sunshine on Monday morning! Our School gardens also were a picture after their brush with Cyclone Marcia. We have much for which we should be grateful. I thank our Staff, and our parents for their care and consideration for the children, during the threatening flood conditions last Friday. All parents seek for their children to be confident and capable. On the evening of 5 March at 6.30 Dr Judith Locke will be presenting her thoughts and expertise on encouraging these traits in our children, to our community in DEM Library. Staff heard Dr Locke as part of our professional development program at the start of the year, and the parenting resources library has been formed by Ms Grant in a response to some associated themes discussed. We are fortunate that Dr Locke has made herself available to talk with us, as her experience is in high demand in Brisbane, in electronic media, and in Independent Schools particularly.
