CCPS remembered our ANZACs with a commemorative Assembly that included significant teamwork, co-operation, voicing our young students’ understanding, performance, and symbolism. Year 7 students separately spoke of the importance of ANZAC Day to them, coinciding with each posting their artwork. Annie Fraser (Yr 9) performed Cold Chisel’s ”Flame Trees”, a poignant echo of the European Flanders Poppy for remembrance which many Staff and students wore. Giselle Birtwistle and Jordan Muir (Yr 6) contributed narration to the events in 1915 relating to ANZAC Day; Bronte Latham and TJ Bindon (Yr 12) Student Leaders co-ordinated the Assembly; and the Wreath-Laying Party was led by Brittany Holmes (Yr 12), with Air Cadets Shaun Capps and Riley Mullins (Yr 9) accompanied by Giselle and Jordan. Caloundra RSL was represented by Heather Christie and Bob McInnes.
