Head of Senior School, Mrs Stuart, in her Newsletter article last week referred to the Study Skills seminars being held for our students, but also for our parents’ understanding. This will coincide with a very important academic event for the School, the Senior School’s Subject Information Event on Thursday 31 July at 5.30 pm in DEM. I would urge parents of any aged children at the School to attend this event. I believe that some parents of younger children particularly may be unaware of the very wide ranging curriculum that CCPS offers our senior students leading into their tertiary studies programs. The School is engaged in the process of selecting a new Physics and Mathematics C (tertiary level Maths) Teacher to deliver the School’s programs in those subjects, and this will replace our current involvement with the Brisbane School of Distance Education’s Physics and Maths C. Our extensive list of senior subjects includes Biology; Business Studies; Chemistry; Drama; English; Graphics (with 3-D Printer); Health and Physical Education; Information Technology Systems; Japanese; Legal Studies; Mathematics A; Mathematics B; Mathematics C; Modern History; Music; Physics; and Visual Art. These total seventeen subjects delivered at CCPS. Teachers will provide descriptions of the content and intent in each of these subjects’ Work Programs in Years 11 and 12 at the Subject Information Event.
