Our Parents and Friends committee since the School’s inception almost ten years ago has been integral to the development of our resources and facilities. In my first year at CCPS, I can observe that we are blessed by having such generous, dedicated and talented women and men who create many extra opportunities for our children’s growth and development. A few examples, but by no means all of them, include our Permaculture Garden; the Science Learning kits in Junior School; the Playground equipment; the soon to be completed LED School Sign on Pelican Waters Blvd; and the BIG Project is ‘RAISING the ROOF’ over the all-weather courts. The P&F Trivia Night on Friday aims to provide shelter from the Terms1 and 4 Queensland summer sun, and our tropical downpours that help The Sunshine Coast show its finest greenery. Summer sun and storms are not friends of School Assemblies, sports coaching in Tennis and Futsal, or of Junior and Senior Schools’ HPE lessons. The planned roof over the existing courts has been drawn by School Architects, Burling Brown, and it will provide a convenient venue for School Assemblies, ‘al fresco activities’, and a first rate sports program’s development. I wish everyone in our community a very happy and enjoyable Trivia Night that will raise a very important roof over our children’s heads, for their sporting, formal and social learning experiences.
