We have been thoroughly entertained by our student performances of varied kinds at recent events. To commence our Speech Night, the National Anthem was played by Mrs Reynolds on flute with Year 10’s Declan Tanner on piano. It is always powerful to hear the anthem played live. Soon after, Year 11’s Reina Shiino played the theme song from Titanic, a delicate soft and complex piece, played with exquisite detail on our Parents and Friends provided electronic Baby Grand Piano – it was a beautiful way to ease into the celebrations. The School’s visual activities were presented by Ms Burton and Ms Grant with their inimitable slide show summary of the year. It’s always fascinating to see the compilation of all of those special shared moments with students and staff sharing their learning experiences. Our Year 12s also produced a ‘Tribute to Teachers’ video that was very well received, and we thank Jess Roue and Tia Mannion for producing this. Immediately prior to the presentation of ‘Special Awards’ and following each of the Year Groups’ awards, we enjoyed three of our young students presenting a dance movement which featured flowing grace with self-developed choreography. Layla Bosomworth (Yr 8), Mary Stewart (Yr 6), Emma Phillips (Yr 6).
