It was good to be able to welcome our Local Member of Parliament, Mr Mark McArdle, to our School Assembly on Tuesday. Mr McArdle, and his wife Judy are very good friends of the School and they attend many events with us. Mr McArdle had the idea of promoting literacy and writing skills development, combined with the positive influence of asking students to consider the character traits and exploits of their hero. We were delighted that three CCPS students were awarded for their writing: Mary Stewart (Yr 4); Joshua Barlow (Yr 5); and Tiggi Mullins (Yr 6). It was also terrific that their parents could attend the presentation with Mr McArdle and it was obvious how pleased each of these young people were to be acknowledged in this way. It was a wonderful, positive event and we are very grateful to our Local Member of Parliament for taking the time and care to begin this initiative for our children’s learning and productive experience.
