This is topical and relevant for our students as this is prevalent amongst online social media users internationally and domestically. I was privileged to attend a Griffith University event with the Vice-Chancellor, Ian O’Connor, at the Conservatorium of Music Southbank, and Dr Michael Carr-Gregg presented on ‘Youth Wellbeing’. Dr Carr-Gregg is one of Australia’s leading experts in adolescent health and he is renowned for his work with schools, institutions, and governing bodies, and in the national and international media. There is currently a Federal Government push for the adoption of protective measures in schools and elsewhere, for the social and mental health of our young people, who are social media users from alarmingly increasingly young age. The Cyber-Bullying Policy will not prevent power related manipulations and tensions, but it is designed to make the School and our members more aware of this scourge and measures adopted to support our young people.
