I’ve been reading Mary Shelley’s famous 1818 novel Frankenstein, and I think like all that is worthwhile, it makes you think, wonder and consider. There are so many clichéd Hollywood and multiple other production versions, that it’s difficult to read the novel without letting your mind drift off to Boris Karloff in black and white 1930s terror; or perhaps you prefer the Mel Brooks, Gene Wilder, Madeline Khan and Marty Feldman spoof, Young Frankenstein? Gosh it’s hard to read Frankenstein without seeing Feldman explaining to Wilder that the brain Dr Frankenstein inserted in the monster was from the person called, “Abby something…Abby Normal.”
