About the Role

Caloundra City Private School is seeking a passionate and experienced Year 1 Teacher to join our dynamic Junior School team from Term 2 2025. Based in the picturesque coastal community of Pelican Waters, this full-time contract role until the end of 2025, provides the opportunity to make a real impact in the formative years of education.

This position is ideal for an educator who brings both creativity and rigour to the classroom, understands the importance of early intervention, and values strong family partnerships. You will contribute to a learning culture built around Personalised Learning, academic excellence, wellbeing, and student engagement.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with the Australian Curriculum
  • Use formative and diagnostic data to plan and evaluate student learning
  • Build foundational literacy, numeracy, and transferable skills in all learners
  • Foster a safe, inclusive and developmentally responsive learning environment
  • Promote student agency, social interaction, and self-regulation through explicit teaching
  • Introduce guest speakers and community organisations to support early awareness of the world of work
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and whole-school initiatives
  • Engage with parents through regular communication and the school’s Learning Management System (CANVAS).

You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education (or equivalent) and current QCT registration
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a primary school setting, ideally with Year 1 learners
  • Demonstrated expertise in early years pedagogy and differentiated instruction
  • A commitment to using assessment data to drive decisions and personalise learning
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially in working with parents as partners
