Senior Legal and Business Teacher (Sunshine Coast 0.8-1.0)

The Opportunity
Caloundra City Private School is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Legal and Business Teacher to join the team. This full-time role, or potentially 0.8 FTE depending on the candidate, provides an opportunity to shape student learning and development in an environment where students are at the heart of every decision in this community school.

We are located in Pelican Waters. This school is a one-year level one class school. Innovative practice is easy (no layers of bureaucracy), autonomy is encouraged, professional learning is a priority, and student-teacher relationships are key. 

The students at CCPS are engaged, respectful and enjoy having a laugh with their teachers; right now, most of them are writing end-of-year cards to teachers thanking them for a wonderful year. As a teacher at CCPS; you will know every student very quickly and enjoy the Sunny Coast lifestyle! You can even take students fishing at lunchtime if you wish, early morning futsal games to get the heart pumping, or even fuse cup competitions.

What you’ll be doing

Importantly we want you to generate a learning environment where student have permission to explore and engage early with the world of work whilst receiving a high class education for further study or employment

  • Teaching Senior Legal Studies and Business subjects to Years 11 and 12 students
  • Developing and delivering engaging and interactive lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles
  • Assessing student work and providing meaningful feedback to support their academic growth
  • Collaborating with other teachers to ensure a consistent and high-quality educational experience
  • Participating in co-curricular activities and contributing to the broader school community
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest teaching methodologies and subject matter

What we’re looking for

  • A relevant bachelor’s degree in Law, Business or Education
  • 3+ years of experience teaching Legal Studies and/or Business at the secondary level
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students
  • A demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuous improvement
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • A genuine passion for educating young people and helping them achieve their full potential
