Healthy Child Check Early childhood is a critical time for development. Children often experience peaks and troughs in their development. For this reason, we have sought out an expert team of senior health professionals to provide a development screen of the children’s hearing, eyesight, fine motor skills, gross motor skills and speech and language abilities. Fully qualified and experienced professionals will conduct the screens. The Audiologist, Speech Pathologist, Optometrist and Occupational Therapist have specific experience working with young children within clinics on the Sunshine Coast. The screenings will take place at Caloundra City Private School in the week beginning 4 March, 2020. As part of our School’s assessment program all Prep students participate in the screenings. The screenings are also available to all other students at the school. If you are interested in your child participating please contact me at gfrisby@ccps.qld.edu.au or on 54375800 for further information. Class News from 1LM We cannot believe that it is the end of Week 4 already! It feels like just yesterday that the students in Year 1LM were meeting new friends and reconnecting with our Prep friends at our class party before school returned and now, we have finished four weeks of school. We have been so busy learning new routines, exploring a variety of places around the school at break times including the oval, library, hall and playground. We have enjoyed our specialist lessons and are looking forward to beginning our Beach Safety program next week. We started our Buddy program in Week 3, which saw our Year 6 Buddies come and introduce themselves and we did some get to know you interviews. The Year 6’s will meet with us each Thursday afternoon to help us develop social skills, support our learning and provide support and friendship in the playground. Here are some photos from the class party, rotations, and buddy time in 1LM.
