Program Our focus for the final week of this term is on the ‘I Believe in Freedom’ Character Kid. Students will be involved in discussions about what freedom means and why it is so important. They will be reminded that freedom is achieved by behaviours such as: Listening when others are expressing their opinion Accepting differences of opinion without arguing too much Sticking up for the other’s right to say, dress and act the way they want It would be appreciated if you could support this program at home as it helps reinforce the importance of these social behaviours that are central to all young people acquiring the social and emotional capabilities they need to be successful in school, experience well-being and have positive relationships. Class News by 2LS Year 2 have been working very hard this term. The students wanted to share what some of their favourite learning activities have been. In Mathematics, we have loved learning about 3D shapes and completing hands on activities to help us learn. In Science, Miss Martin has been teaching us about “Mixtures.” One of our favourite lessons with her was when we got to make lava lamps. In HASS, we have been working in groups to research our Australian States and Territories. We have also enjoyed going to the computer lab with our Year 5 buddies to complete our research there, and learn how to use Microsoft Word to record our information. All of our class love being creative in our Art lessons. Next week we are very excited to start swimming lessons and we are looking forward to the swimming carnival on Friday.
