It has been so pleasing to see so many of the School’s students involved in the Monday and Wednesday afternoon and night competitions held at the Caloundra Sharks home ground fields. Whilst there are no premiership ladders available, the School teams would be very well placed in all grades. This Sunday see the teams compete at their carnival type draw for the season. We wish all the players and coaches the best for the rest of the season. New Zealand Expedition Last Saturday morning the final briefing session was held for the students and staff attending the adventure in New Zealand. The group departs Brisbane on Saturday November 30th and returns Friday December 20th. Whilst away, the group shall hike, mountain bike and raft from the west coast to the east coast with an all up distance of nearly 500 kilometres being covered. They have been training since April and have now walked a total distance of 730 kilometres in that time. It remains one of the most challenging undertakings by any group of school students in Australia. The group shall travel un-aided and under their own power for the duration of the trip. It is hoped that this and other expeditions in Australia and New Zealand become a regular feature of the School’s outdoor education program. District Sport Trials 2020 This week I placed a list of all the sport trials, venues and dates for the up-coming year on the Sport Noticeboard outside Raelene Boyle Hall. Students are requested to view the sports listed and advise me of their interest as soon as possible. Registration for the trial days does not occur until Week One, Term One next year. Parents of students who will be in Years Five and Six in 2020 are also encouraged to view the list and speak to me if they would like to register their son or daughter for a trial day.
