Pelican Waters Carols is proud to welcome the very popular and multi- talented Hugh Sheridan. Hugh has won two Silver Logie's one in 2010 for Most Popular Actor and one in 2009 for Most Popular New Male Talent both for his portrayal of Ben Rafter in Channel Sevens' extremely successful series Packed to the Rafters.

Ben has sung with State Opera Australia, played football for St Ignatius and has even done some modeling for Melbourne Fashion Week. He performed in his own one man show "Newley Discovered" to packed houses and rave reviews.

He has written numerous songs some of which were included on his debut album "Speak Love" and he has already released several successful singles.

Hugh gave a wonderful performance for Carols in the Domain, and we are thrilled to have him sing at our Carols this year.

Rebecca Breeds – Co-Host

We are very excited to have the beautiful Rebecca Breeds perform at our Carols this year. Rebecca is an extremely talented young actress and singer from the Seven Network.

Currently best known for her portrayal of Ruby Buckton in Home and Away, Rebecca has also appeared in Blue Water High, Water Rats and Police Crime.

Rebecca has performed live for Carols in the Domain and is one of the most popular actresses currently on TV.

Chris Sebastian – Singer

Singer, songwriter and musician Chris Sebastian has already gained quite a reputation in the professional music industry. Chris has recently completed a national tour as support artist for his brother Guy Sebastian's Acoustic Tour.

Chris has performed in front of crowds from forty thousand at AFL football games to millions of viewers both live and on TV for the Myer Carols by Candlelight. Chris also sings session vocals for Channel 7's hit kids show The Fairies.

He is currently working on his debut album and single called Flow to be released in November 2010.

Tenorissimo

We are very pleased to welcome four of the most experienced and successful performers Australia has presented to the local, national and world stage. They have entertained audiences around the world as part of the extremely successful Ten Tenors ensemble and their stunning voices have been much acclaimed. Tenorissimo perform regularly to standing ovations and we are proud to include them in our Carols Program.

Queensland Police Pipes and Drums

Queensland Police Pipes and Drums

The exceptional Queensland Police Pipes and Drums were formed in 1958 and have performed internationally at many Tattoos including the world famous Edinburgh Military Tattoo in 2006. Whilst in Edinburgh the Band was invited to perform with the newly formed Royal Regiment of Scotland in a Beating of Retreat before Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and members of the Royal Family at Balmoral Castle.

In February 2010 the Band performed at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Sydney and continues to perform and provide entertainment to the Queensland community throughout the year.

Fyona Smith from 92.7 Mix FM is a very busy lady. When she is not behind the microphone you could find her on a surfboard, fishing, playing the guitar, abseiling or mentoring high school students. She is also the radio stations Music Director.

Added to all of that she is a wonderful singer as well and will be performing 2 songs for us this year – look out for Monty the Moose who may make an appearance with Fyona.

Anita Parakh-Morgan

A very accomplished soprano, recently returned from professional development in Germany, Anita Parakh-Morgan continues to establish herself as a premier classical and opera singer in Queensland. Anita made her solo debut with Opera Queensland and has also performed internationally with the Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra.

Anita has made many major concert appearances as a soprano soloist including with the Queensland Pops Orchestra, Opera Queensland, QPAC Concert Hall and with Brisbane Philharmonic Orchestra to support Julie Anthony.

We are looking forward with anticipation to hearing Anita sing at Pelican Waters Carols this year.

Sunshine Coast Choral Society

We are delighted to welcome the Sunshine Coast Choral Society with their Conductor and Musical Director Adrian King.

Since its establishment in 1994 the choir has given many stirring performances, won many awards and established itself as a Sunshine Coast icon.

The Choir has performed many concerts from Haydn, Vivaldi and Handel to Best of British and Musical Treats from around the World evenings.

Sunshine Coast Symphony Orchesta

The Sunshine Coast Symphony Orchestra has been in existence for around 30 years and has approximately 45 orchestral players. Their conductor and Musical Director is the very accomplished Adrian King. The orchestra will be a wonderful addition to our Carols this year.

This community orchestra is based in Buderim and plays to audiences from Kenilworth to Mount Mee and Noosa to Caloundra.

They play a wide variety of orchestral music ranging from symphony and concerto to lighter classics and film scores. Each year ends with a very traditional proms concert.

Adrian King – Conductor and Musical Director of Sunshine Coast Symphony Orchestra and The Sunshine Coast Chorale

Adrian is an extremely busy man - he migrated to Australia in 2006 from England. He received musical training at Guildhall School of Music and was awarded a music diploma from the Trinity College of Music in the UK.

On his arrival in Australia Adrian was engaged as Conductor and Music Director of the Noosa Chorale and was also appointed Conductor and Music Director of the Sunshine Coast Chorale Society and engaged as Conductor and Music Director of the Sunshine Coast Symphony Orchestra.

Adrian also has a busy schedule freelance conducting, adjudicating and teaching privately at local schools.

Sunshine Coast Performing Arts Centre (SCPAC)

SCPAC was established in 2001 by Cameron and Bonnita Anthony-McIntosh and in 9 years has grown to be one of the largest and most successful dance and performing arts centre's on the Sunshine Coast.

With over 400 students SCPAC cater to all levels of ability in a caring professional environment, They nurture and produce strong, confident dancers, actors and singers.

We are very pleased that SCPAC are performing at the Carols this year and look forward to watching their very talented students perform as they sing and dance in two wonderful Christmas medleys.
